Description
The Historic Lightship Columbia rests quietly at its pierside mooring at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria Oregon. This ship served as a floating lighthouse at the mouth of the Columbia River until retired in 1979. This ship and its predecessors warned mariners of the treacherous Columbia River Bar for over one hundred years. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

Scott, stunning b&w scene. Awesome historical landmark. Your overall composition is superb as always! Nice work. Folks have gotten away from b&w, I don't know why. I have been experiments with color and taking that same view in b&w, and sometimes the b&w far outweighs the color version. l/v
