This pair of American White Ibis were wading around the mudflats on the northside of the Ravenal Bridge in Charleston SC. Their long curved red bill is kind of unique and lets then catch all kinds of tasty morsels that they detect below their feet. This photo was captured at the optical limit of my camera. The female Ibis was busy chattering and her mate didn't seem too interested in what she was talking about. Hm, I've seen that behavior before. Wish I had been closer to hear the conversation.
