Description
The very first lighthouse you see once you reach Pea Island on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore heading south is the stately historical Bodie Island Lighthouse. It is the third one that was built in that general location as a replacement for the earlier versions. At 156ft tall with a 1st order fresnel lense it's light can be seen 18 miles across the ocean. It was energized for the first time on October 1, 1872. It is still active today and now maintained the the Coast Guard. This vertical high resolution print is presented in a 2x3 format. I used a Nikon D850 camera with a 14mm lens to capture this unique moment in time.
